Presidents Report 30th May 2018

Dear Rotarians and Friends,
What a week in the Rotary Club of Rosanna! A fabulous speaker in Ray Veitch who enthralled the audience in sharing his experiences with meeting Alan Shepard, astronaut and business man. The stories and experiences contain a lifetime of wonderful memories for Ray.
Congratulations to Peter and Ruth as this last week the bus was presented to the school in Bali. What a great project that has been continuing for quite some years, with success after success. It’s great that our Club has been able to play a part in this very worthwhile project. Peter is no doubt winging his way home from Bali, and he and Ruth won’t rest without finding another worthy cause, either in Bali or elsewhere. Wonderful Rotarians! Again, a big CONGRATULATIONS and thanks to Peter and Ruth for the finalisation of a wonderful project.
Remember, we still need a President Elect Nominee for President 2019/2020 so if you are able, then please tell one of the nominating committee – Neil, Sandra or Ian.
Our meeting this week will be hearing about the Big Group Hug. They are seeking some help and support with their ongoing work of supporting new Mums and babies. Partners are most welcome, and the timing is 6.00pm for a 6.30pm start.
As our Rotary year quickly draws to a close, all committee Chairmen are reminded of the need to finalise their respective annual reports and forward them to Chris Hopkins for compiling into the Club’s Annual Report for 2017/2018. These need to be with Chris by May 31 and in MS Word format.
With the year nearly over, we need to make every item count as we complete a good Rotary year. We’re not there yet, but we are in a winning position so let’s keep up the hard work and remember our theme as we go about our daily business – ‘Making a Difference’ – a motto that I have no doubt we are all living up to.
Yours in Rotary,
Ian Bushby
